WOW! Man With World’s Largest Man-H@od Agrees To Donate It To Museum (Photo)
Like
Jonah Falcon received an extraordinary gift at birth, and now he wants to give back. The 45-
year-old Manhattanite is recognized for having the longest man-h@od ever measured in a
documentary, a distinction that has made him an Internet star. He has declined many
opportunities in Po*n. But now,he has an offer he can’t refuse.
The Icelandic Phallological Museum, better known as “The man-hood Museum” has offered
Jonah everlasting fame, by putting his 13.5-inch s*x organ on display after his death.
“I am flattered by the invitation,” Falcon says in a letter to the museum. “I appreciate your
museum’s devotion to science, and it would be an honor to have my manho-od put on
display, hopefully nestled between the sxual appendages of a sperm whale and a polar bear… I
hope I don’t make either of those creatures jealous. May I suggest you call the exhibit, ‘Jonah
and the Whale”, he said.
Tiwa Savage's Wanted: Utterly unoriginal, incredibly boring
Tiwa Savage's Wanted: Utterly
unoriginal, incredibly boring
'Wanted',thefirst track off Tiwa Sav-age's 'Once Upon
ATime' debut derives heavily from Barbados-born
sensation, Rihanna's 'Man 'Down'. Released in 2011,
Rihanna's reggae revenge anthem had her singing
furiously about ending a man's life. The video stirred
controversy when it featured the pop singer shooting
a man in cold blood after he assaultsher sexually.
TheUS Parents Television Council (PTC) called for a ban
of the video, condemning its unrepentant violent
message.
Like Rihanna, like Tiwa Savage.
'Wanted' used to be most famous for being that Tiwa
Savage song that combined the throb- bing reggae
atmosphere of 'Man Down' with the memorable lines,
'outin the streets/they call it murder', best known
from Damian Marley's 'Welcome to Jamrock' hit –
until Tiwa Savagereleased the controver- sial
promotional video. The video directedby Mr. Moe
Musa immediately launched thousands of You Tube
views and snarky online comments. Why? From the
opening scenes, it was clear Ms Savage intended to
start up a storm with this one. Performing solo for her
audience, Ms Savage can be seen in a nude body suit
covering only strategic locations of her anatomy,
flaunting her beautifully toned body. She goes on to
touch herself suggestively, writhing sensually to the
jaunty beats, making funny faces that are more ugly
than sexy, and rounding up with erotically charged
dance moves.
The internet hadn't seen anything like it, perhaps not
since Tiwa Savage had everyone scandalized by the
flesh baring, thigh flaunting fiesta of her 'Love Me
Love Me' video. Having recently toned her sex appeal
down to a more wholesome family image in the days
lead- ing up to her fairy talewedding, it was indeed a
shock to see the super sexualized Tiwa Savage going at
it once again.
The video for 'Want- ed' really isn't worth all the
hype. Honestly. If you have seen any video in the last
five years from Rihanna, Beyonce or any female pop
artiste with a hint of a sexual appeal, you have
probably seen 'Wanted'. And seen it done better too.
Savage doesn't even update the tem- plate; she just
struggles to follow it. After all the touching and
writhing and gyrating, the video is deviously
empty. No climax, no release. Everything she doeshas
been done before; nothing is new. Notthe dancing, the
dance moves or the camera angles. It is just Tiwa,
doing what every other person (including Tiwa) has
done before.
It is important for Tiwa to note that aping Rihanna or
Beyonce goes beyond photocopying some sug- gestive,
come hither moves. While every Beyonce video can
ultimately be said to bethe same performance, Queen
Bey never fails to put out something distinctive in
eachone. Something new, something borrowed, it
doesn't matter. Long as it stands out. Compare the
infectious, tightly choreographed energy of 'Single
Ladies' to the inebriated, loose dance moves of 'Drunk
in Love'. Even when Rihanna goes all out to do
raunch, she does it peerlessly as seen with the trashy
twerking on water moves of 'Pour It Up'. No one has
topped that. Standing out is all- important. And
nothing in the 'Wanted' video stands out. Well, except
maybe for those funny looking shoes.
Tiwa's video does not fail because it is raunchy,
because sheis a married woman in- sistent on living
out her fantasies or because of the questionable
fashion tastes. It fails because after all the glossy hype,
the video is utterly unoriginal, desperately copycat-ish
and incredibly boring.
On to the next one please…
Kcee puts duet with Olamide on hold
Kcee puts duet with Olamide on hold
Fans of Limpopo singer, Kcee may have to wait for
sometime before they see his much talked about
collaboration with Olamide, who is otherwise known
as Baddo.
Since news broke into town that Kcee and Olamide
were planning to drop a new song together few weeks
back, tongues had been wagging, but information
gathered by E during the week may have put an end to
the duet.
Limpopo crooner, Kcee has said he won't be doing any
collaboration with Olamide for now. Though, Kcee did
not state why he decided to put his collaboration with
Olamide on hold, but it was gathered that Kcee's
decision not to go ahead with the original plan to
feature Olamide for the first time is unconnected with
Kcee's engagements in and outside the country till the
end of August.
Speaking with E during the week, Kcee's manager,
Soso Soberekon, in a telephone interview said "Yes, it
is true that Kcee ought to have recorded a song with
Olamide, but we have decided to shelve it for now. I
wish I could tell you more as we speak, but I will get
back to you as soon as I know more".
So sad!!! Timaya, Skales, African China, K-solo, other celebrities mourn Kefee’s death
Since the news broke that kofee has gave up, her colleagues, friends and well-wishers have
continued to pour out their hearts on the loss of one of their own, who has been an
inspiration to many young gospel artistes in the country.
One of her colleagues, Skales could not hide his sorrow as he
declared: “I still don’t understand why such things happen to
good people. She was too good to me. I am grateful for all she
did for me. God knows best. May her soul rest in peace.”
Timaya described Kefee as a “friend, a sister, a colleague and a
strong woman, “ adding “ Working with her on that “Kokoroko”
song was a blessing. We will miss her so much.”
Lami Philips said, “I don’t understand why this has to happen.
May God keep grant her eternal rest, and comfort those she left behind.”
K-Solo expressed his grief thus; Kefee was a wonderful singer. I produced her Kokoroko song.
I will miss her so much. Whenever she sings, the vocal just drops and she can’t even
phantom how great her voice dexterity was. I can’t hold back these tears. I used to call her
Irekef.”
According to Sunny Nneji, her death is painful. “This is a huge loss in the music industry. For
a young and vibrant artiste like Kefee to die just like that is really painful. In fact, I am still in
a shock.”
For African China, “Honestly, it’s a sad one because she was more than a friend to me. I could
remember the last time I visited her restaurant located in Maryland, Lagos, to eat starch and
banga soup. After having a good meal, I posed for shots with her. I was surprised to hear that
she is dead. We even talked about doing collaboration soon. It’s really sad because I had a
mission yet to be accomplished with her.”
In his own reaction, Alariwo of Africa said, “It’s really shocking, disappointing and
devastating.
When I heard about Kefee’s death this morning (yesterday), I was in a shock for about four
hours. This is because it is a big blow to the industry for a lively and vibrant singer like Kefee
to be lost to death.”
Also, reacting to Kefee’s death via Instagram, Sasha P said, “Now you are looking at
heaven…..Teach us Lord to number our days. Rest In Peace Kefee, God knows best.”

24-Years Old,Olaoluwa Oluwadara Bagged A Ph.D In Degree In Mathematics
A 24-year-old, Olaoluwa Oluwadara, has bagged a Ph.D degree in Mathematics at the just
concluded 2012/2013 session convocation ceremony at the University of Lagos.
Olaoluwa, who bagged his first and second degrees in Mathematics and Physics in 2007 and
2008 respectively from the Universite de Bangui in Central African Republic, graduated with a
Cummulative Gross Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 [first degree].
Olaoluwa’s feat supersedes that of Olabisi Adeyemi, a 26-year-old female who bagged a Ph.D
with a CGPA of 4.98 in 2012 and Opeyemi Shodipe, 25 of Babcock University.
While speaking during the convocation, the Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Rahmon
Bello, appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to urgently intervene in the resolution of the
over 10-month strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics and the
Academic Staff Union of Colleges of Education of Nigeria (ASUCEON).
He appealed to the Federal Government to consider the demands of the striking lecturers to
ensure that students of the polyechnics and colleges of education resumed their suspended
academic work.
This, Rahman said was “In the interest of our students and to stem the falling standard of
education and the increasingly degenerating infrastructure facilities worsened by the
insurgency of Boko Haram.”
He also emphatised with the Federal Government as well as the President on having to deal
with the Boko Haram insurgency, praying for a quick resolution and return of the Chibok
school girls that were abducted in April.
The vice chancellor further charged Nigerians on the need to support the Federal government
and proffer some home grown solutions to the issue of insecurity in the country “which seems
to be hydra-headed and growing like a wild fire.”
The institution’s Governing Council chairman, Professor Jerry Gana, while speaking assured
that the name: University of Lagos would remain same just as the former Head of State,
General Yakubu Gowon GCFR, stated on Tuesday, adding that the name itsekd is a source of
pride. It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan, in 2012, made an announcement
to change the name of the institution to Moshood Abiola University, this decision was met
with a protests and criticisms from many quarters and is currently pending at the National
House of Assembly.
In his address, President Jonathan, who is also the visitor to the university, represented by
the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Julius Okojie,
reiterated the federal government’s pledge to work towards improving the education sector in
Nigeria by turning the “brain drain in the Nigeria to a brain gain.”
He charged the 9,729 graduating students on the need work harder and equip themselves with
the skills to be successful and relevant on this 21st century as, “with every convocation, the
future of our nation is assured.”
Must See!!! D’banj in secret marriage
D’banj, one of Nigeria’s hottest musical stars turned 34, on Monday, June 9. And as expected,
activities were rolled out to mark his birthday anniversary, at Four Point Hotel, Lekki, Lagos,
courtesy of Heritage Bank. The Koko Master seized the opportunity offered by the gathering to
unveil yet another significant aspect of his career, a strong entrepreneurial initiative focusing
on Agriculture and Agro-economic enterprise called Koko Agropreneu as he donated N50
million to empower the Nigerian youths.
In this exclusive interview with Showtime Celebrity, D’banj shares what he feels was the
mistake he made while the partnership with Don Jazzy lasted as his former business partner.
He also talks about his relationship with top Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji among other
issues.
You are celebrating your 34th birthday anniversary as well as your 10 years on stage, this year.
How has the journey been so far?
It has not been an easy one. Though, it’s been interesting, full of ups and downs; sobbing and
smiling. But importantly, it’s been rewarding. God has been so good to me. What I have
achieved in my 34 years of life, as well as my 10 years as a performer, it’s only the Almighty
Lord that could have done it for me. I am so honoured and privileged.
When you look back from where you started 10 years ago, what were the mistakes you made
you wished you didn’t make?
I don’t really like to recount my mistakes. This is because I believe that for every individual,
there is always a learning process. A good friend of mine used to call it ‘school fees.’ So,
when you go through a bad experience, just have it that you have paid an expensive school
fee.
What you should have asked me is that how many schools fees have I paid in the past 10
years? I would tell you that as every other human being, I am not perfect. I have made my own
normal mistakes. But in my own opinion, there has not been any mistake I made that has been
detrimental to my career. God has always saved me. Thank Almighty God for mercies.
Could you recall some of those mistakes?
One major mistake I made
was not doing something
differently in the past,
considering all that
happened between me and
my ex-business partner, Don
Jazzy. This is because we
never really had issues. I
believe, people that fueled
the problem. May be, I
should have fought more for
what I brought up.
I personally found and
signed everybody that
belonged to the one time
popular record label, ‘Mo Hits Records’ consisting of major artistes such as Wande Coal, Dr.
Sid, Prince, K-Switch and co-partnered with Don Jazzy. I recall one time when he told me that
he wanted us to go our separate ways. I also remember asking him to give me about six
months to fashion out modalities for the separation.
May be, I should have requested for one year. But like I sang in one of my songs “Top of the
World”, I have no regrets parting ways with him. However, I should have tried harder, which I
did. But in all honesty, I’m grateful to Almighty God.
But would you say, you are missing Don Jazzy in all ramifications?
Not more than the ordinary. You know, when you say you are missing somebody, it means you
need the person in your life. No, I don’t miss him. But I saw him at the MTV music awards, in
South Africa. We ran into each other every now and then. People are alleging that we have
come together again.
Who told them that we are quarreling? It’s just that we are running our own different
businesses now. He has his own record label called Mavin Records, while I have my own
label, DBM Records. Nobody is saying, we cannot do music together, or perform on the same
stage again. In fact, while I am celebrating my 10 years on stage, it also means that Don Jazzy
is celebrating 10 years of his musical career.
Does the break up affect your relationship with him?
Of course, it affected our relationship for a long time. It’s close to two years since we broke
up. But we have been seeing each other. Probably, we will get into the studio soon to do
songs together.
How do you react to the aged-long rumour that you are dating top Nollywood actress,
Genevieve Nnaji?
There have been so many rumours about so many things. I don’t like to talk about my
personal relationship again because people always misunderstand me. But rumours must
always be rumours.
But it’s always good to put the record straight?
Honestly, I’m not dating Genevieve. Let me clear the air now.
You had a huge crush on her?
I never did.
At 34 years, is D’banj not thinking of settling down?
Of course, I am thinking of settling down. Who said, I am not married? My private life must
remain private, especially to the press.
Meaning that D’banj is secretly married?
It could be so.
Who is the woman in your life?
I wouldn’t disclose her identity so that they don’t plan to kidnap her.
Could you share your memorable moments on stage in the past 10 years?
I have so many memorable moments.Just yesterday (Sunday), I was on stage with Trey Songz,
at the just concluded MAMA awards, in Durban. We performed his monster track, Bottoms Up. I
have been on the same stage with Kanye West, Kenny Rogers. I was on stage at the World
Music Award, in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
I performed at the Mandela Charity Event in South Africa. I performed my hit track “Top Of The
World” that became the theme song for the Africa Cup of Nation, which Nigeria eventually won.
Every time for me is memorable.
I have adorned a lot of international stages. But I would say, that each time I’m on stage,
something new happens to me, always. I am looking forward to the Grammys.
What do you think could be done differently in the Nigerian music industry?
I think we need to get to that level where the musician will be a heavy investor. There is so
much money in the industry at the moment. But we are not well structured to diversify. So, we
need to put structures in place. We have made so much money. Now, think of when we put
structures in place.
We used to say that we live by example. With the kind of partnership I am doing with the
Heritage Bank today, I think it’s not just for Agriculture alone. It would involve so many other
things. One will see how you can become a musician and at the same time invest wisely in
other sectors of the economy.
Could you recall one of your greatest embarrassments while on stage?
I don’t really see anything as an embarrassment
because I am an entertainer. But there was this show,
Koko concert which I organized long time ago. I was
performing on stage, and suddenly, my trouser got
torn. As it happened, I bent down to conceal it but I
was pretending to be dancing. Don Jazzy, noticing it,
came to block me while I disappeared from stage.
However, it wasn’t embarrassing for me because the
audience did not notice it.
What’s your new “Koko” Agropreneur initiative all
about?
I am 34 years, this year. And this year also happens to
be my 10 years as entertainers. My first single was
released in October, 2004. This year, marks my 10th
year as an entertainer.
When I look back, I feel humbled by what God has done
in my life in such a short time. That’s why I have decided to give back to society. This is not
the first time; anybody would embark on a charity project. Last year, I decided that I was going
to do something differently.
Me and the Head, of my Business Development, Mr. Tony travelled to South Africa where an
organisation approached us to work with us. Initially, I was not interested in the project, but
after listening to their presentations, and how the organisation has been working to eradicate
poverty in Africa, I immediately developed interested in the project.
When they told me the role they wanted me to play; that’s to champion the cause of the
campaign in 2014, following the African Union’s declaration of 2014, as the year of Agriculture.
This is because the mass of land that we have acquired as Africans and, going by the world’s
projection, we would depend on Agriculture to feed about 70 per cent of the population. They
also told me that in 2013, at the African Union summit, all the African leaders signed an
agreement, which stated that each country would commit at least 10 percent of its annual
budget on Agriculture. And today, you can see that there is a concerted effort to encourage
Nigerians to go back to the land.
Today, everyone wants to become a musician because of the success that has been recorded
in the industry. And that’s why the African Union decided to embark on this project.
Even though, I wasn’t interested initially, my Business Development manager prevailed on me
to consider the importance of being part of the project to unlock the wealth that is hidden in
our natural resources. So, we kicked off the project, and they took me to Ghana’s Coco
plantation which is about three and half hours from the main town.
Later, I was introduced to the small scale farmers who I would say are responsible for
producing about 60 percent of our food. In January, I was at the African Union summit, where I
signed as the first African youth, the exercise that would concentrate on Agriculture, because if
we don’t feed ourselves in the next five years, we end up depending on foreign assistance.
But if we all go back to the land, we will be able to feed the rest of the world. That’s how the
project started and that’s why I am partnering Heritage Bank to make the dream come true. Ten
years ago, the music industry like Agriculture was nothing to write home about.
When I told my parents in 2002, that I wanted to become a musician, they objected to it. I
relayed my experience in my first album; how my International Passport was seized by my
parents. But 10 years down the line, I am still standing tall in my chosen profession. Then,
they said music was a hobby, but today, music has become a serious business. We can use
the same passion to go into agriculture because, while growing up, agriculture to me was
perceived as a demeaning job. But the richest man in Africa today is a farmer.
Dangote is into agriculture. So, I decided to practice what I preach. I have been doing some
researches with my team on the social media, and we discovered that there are so many
youths across Africa, especially in Nigeria that want to venture into agriculture. I met with the
Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Akinwunmi Adeshina, who told me that he likes what I am doing,
insisting that he wants me to do a song that would promote the project.
According to the Minister, the budget for agriculture has been increased by 1.2 percent. He
also disclosed that the federal government has set up a programme that the youths can benefit
from. I was privileged to listen to the Minister as he asked me whether I would like to be the
ambassador of the Nagropreneur initiative called Nigeria Agricultural Entrepreneur. The project
is geared towards empowering about 750,000 youths in Nigeria that are interested in going into
agriculture. I want to kick off the project by showing example. I believe that by flagging off the
project, I’m not only giving back to the society, but I’m also empowering the youths.
This is my own little contribution to the development of the nation. As a result, I said on my
birthday, I will give out N50 million to boost the agricultural sector of our economy. The
essence of this, is to encourage the youths to embrace agriculture. My new initiative is aimed,
on the one hand, at providing practical leadership and encouragement to the massive youth
population to embrace the agriculture revolution being championed by the Minister of
Agriculture, as part of the national socio-economic transformation agenda.

Obi Asika, Jimmy Jatt, Emma Ugolee and others make top 20 list of pioneers of the new Nigerian music era
List compiled by Reading-Bridges magazine.Totally
agree with it...guess that's why I'm sharing it :-).
Once upon a time, the oyibo man ran Nigerian
music when big international music labels as Sony,
EMI, Motown etc set up here and called the shots.
Unable to contain the yawa they met, they packed
their baggage and left. Leaving us with no clue as
to what to do.
Those who decided to invent a new Nigerian sound
were criticized strongly by the older music act as
being armatures who were heading nowhere. The
press too, was not exactly kind to their course. But
they stuck to their guns with sacrifices and today
we have thousands making millions out of an
industry they slaved for
These are the top 20 guys who began and grew the
new age Nigerian music industry. The seed sowers
and pioneers who created and promoted the new
sound that feeds millions today and put our music
on the Global map. See the guys after the cut...
1) Kennis Music : Nigeria's foremost indigenous record
label. Even though they had a structure that promoted
basically acts under its umbrella, they generally gave
the new school artist an enviable status. Hype masters
who were undeniable experts of bestowing a larger than
life perception to the new school Nigerian music artist
and warming them into the hearts of Nigerians via the
widest TV network at the time. This often attracted
followership for the artist, increasing their fan base as
well as big bucks from the corporate sponsors. Kennis
music hold the record of getting the first new school
Nigerian act (Rapper EedrisAbdulkareem) to be paid
N1,000,000:00 for one show
2) Ben Omoage, popularly known as Grand Master Lee
and widely called GML. A strong crusader for the new
school act. His voice was on radio and it was loud. His
platform had power and he used the power
predominantly to call attention to the emergence of a
new kind of sound. He was loud and he was heard. GML
was known to be kind to the new bunch of musicians
and gave them air time they could never pay for.
3) Ayo Animashaun : The resilience of another pioneer.
His introduction was with his magazine that thought a
generation the lyrics of all their favorite songs. He was
one of the first to play Mongo Park with the hip hop
world. Discovering a whole new world of Nigerian
music. Ayo also engineered the most enviable reward
scheme for the new school act with an Award ceremony
that replicated Hollywood's glitz and glam
4) Emma Ugolee: A forerunner with the introduction of
music videos as the new tool for marketing the new
Nigerian artist. On TV, this presenter, producer was the
only alternative to the Kennis music dynasty. As
inventor of the first ever all Nigerian music video
countdown, his TV show was making more artist than
we expected. Renowned for his ear and eyes for talent
and personal support for most of Nigeria’s biggest
music acts today from the early days of their struggle. A
force the industry would never forget
5) Dj Jimmy Jatt : An old school Dj with the new school
flavor. If Jimmy played your song, it was like getting a
seal of industry approval, cause unlike many of his
colleagues who were still stuck with music from the
west, Jimmy celebrated the new Nigerian music by
playing at the biggest platforms in his time. Every leader
of the new school has a cherished favor given by Jimmy
in the wake of his career. In the words of Tuface “back
then na Jimmy Jattna him dey give us instrumental”
6) Paul Play : New school producer extraordinaire. Made
that fresh sound for so many of the pioneers as well as
himself. Formed one of the first new schoolR and B
groups in Nigeria called Oxygen. Paul IK Dairo had big
shoes to fill with a musical icon of a father, but like
Femi Kuti, he too had found his own path and identity
but also carried quite a crowd on his back in the
process.
7) Kwame : Kwame was another voice on radio with a
following that was hard to ignore. His style made us all
want to listen to what he said. This presenter deserved
our attention. When the new school took off. Kwame
was a pilot that the journey wouldn't do without. He
used his platform well for the good of the course. His
hunger expanded to TV where Nigizziewas eventually
born
8) Eldee: For an under graduate in his late teens, his
vision was legendary. Forming his solo record label
(tribe records) and initiating trade with the Alaba trader
for the industry are landmarks that changed the
business, inspiring a whole lot. Attributable all to a man
aptly called the Don. Tribe records also went on to
create a long chain of successful careers.
9) Nelson Brown : Another producer of the new Nigerian
sound. The legendary Daddy Showkey’s "Diana" and
Plantation boy's "body and soul" albums are one of the
many industry redefining sounds that came out of the
stable of Mr Brown's dove records that operated from a
small kiosk in Festac. Nelson's versatility was amazing
as he made hip hop hits for Def O clan, Love songs for
P.boiz and yet sold that Ajegunle new school to
Nigeria.
10) Obi Asika : Heavy weight that enjoyed throwing his
weight behind the new Nigerian sound. His backing for
Junior and Pretty was one of the early signs that the
industry was better off with Obi sticking around. This
was made manifest over time as many more owed their
blossoming careers to his dedication to improving the
industry
11) Swat root: When rap music had taken over the world
and we were wondering who could represent the nation
with the way it should be done. A team of Northern
Nigerian based rappers known as Swat root did not let
us wait for long. These intellectual kings of punchlines
made so many youngsters believe that they too could
get a shot at this as a means of living. The
acknowledgment intro of Ice prince's ELI album lists
their names as OD, Terry tharapman, Mode 9, Six foot
plus, Ruclean and EldeeXtra Large
12) Uzo Okpechi : The man who took directing music
videos personal. Invested for the sake of showing that
we too can look like the guys on MTV Europe and
Channel O. He was at a time the sole supplier for
quality videos to all who played them. His tag team with
Mr Emma Ugolee mentioned earlier was memorable as
defining what is today called packaging with visuals.
13). Plantation boys : As Jodeci, New Edition, The
boys, Boys to men, etc all got everyday black American
boys to believe in coming together to make music
magic, Plantation boys did same for the Naija kids.
Totally fresh sound from the boys next door,
transformed their reality into millions of achievable
dreams for music hopefuls who flooded the industry.
Body and Soul- the album remains the contact point for
many with the new age Nigerian sound
14) Remedies : Another Music redefining band. Made
music that opened doors to the acceptance of the new
school.Eddie, Tony and Eedris where the symbol of the
new school super stars. They inspired many to make
that trip to the studio and make the sponsors of
entertainment take the new school seriously
15) Ojb Jezreel : Like Paul play and Eldee. Ojb too had
opened his doors to the production of talent that
congested his studio daily. If he got paid for free beats
he gave out, he would have been a millionaire.
Responsible for the 1st sounds from Dbanj, Rugged
man, Funke etc... He was another one man mopol that
defended the new music
16) Femi Lasode : Here is a man who set up a business
to make money out of music with his Africa 'n Vogue
concept but ended up playing father Christmas all year
round with free studio sessions and video making ticket
to countless who could not afford it. Femi was
supportive of the new music and must be proud of
where it has gotten.
17) Tee Joe : it takes one to know one they say. A
music lover but also a business man.Approached by
Eldee with a plan to make paper packages for cd's
instead of the expensive plastic cases. Then also to use
the Nollywood distribution network to spread this new
emerging sound. The catch was for him to provide a
bulk sum to finish production and invests in the
distribution. That game changing decision in favor of
millions to come was made by Tee joe and today
millions of naira flow through that system
18) Eddie Lawani : The bearded one is everybody’s
uncle. Not only as a sign of respect for his mature,
fatherly demeanor but for his mentorship role that
pointed many budding acts in the right direction with
his wealth od experience. A technical guru with events
production but also uses the link to put bread on many
tables as a go between sponsors and artistes
19) Cali Ikpe : Cali was also a crusader on TV. The first
man to put plantation boiz on TV. Cali didn't believe
that we should make our guys look local. He did what
he could to equate the hype he gave home grown
talents on his show "Live Beats" to the one he gave
international act
20) Charles Novia : Charlie as he was fondly called is
today more remembered for his contribution to
Nollywood but he had long b4 that been a pillar for the
music industry. TV was his medium, and playing videos
and interviews was his timely share of introducing and
promoting the new era music. His show "who is on" in
1996 forced aoot of Nigerians to accept the new kids on
the block with the most populay medium called the NTA
network

Looking At The Life Of Billionaire Kola Aluko -On Forbes Radar List of Africa’s 50 Richest! [PHOTOS]
Ronke Sanya looks at the life of Kola Aluko, a Nigerian oil, gas and aviation tycoon who is
among the 50 richest Africans according to Forbes. Continue below...
Background
Kolawole Aluko was born in Lagos on 20 October, 1969. His mother is a pharmacist while his
father, Chief Akanni Aluko, is a high chief in Ilesa, Osun State. He attended Igbobi College in
Lagos. Speaking about his growing up years, Aluko was once quoted, “I was from an early age
very ambitious and I always knew I wanted to work for myself.”
Business career
Recently, according to Forbes, Seven Energy, a leading energy firm which was co-founded by
Aluko, closed a financing round that now values the company at nearly $1 billion. Temasek,
the investment holding company owned by the government of Singapore, made a $150 million
investment in Seven Energy, a privately-held Nigerian oil and gas exploration company that
Aluko co-founded in 2004.
In a press release issued by Seven Energy, the company said it plans to use the funds to
develop its growing portfolio of assets in Nigeria.
Aluko founded oil exploration company, Exoro Energy, in 2004 after a successful career in oil
trading. That same year, Exoro partnered with Energy Ventures International, a Nigerian
subsidiary of Weatherford, a Swiss-based oil and gas servicing firm, to market the latter’s
exploration and production technology in Nigeria. Energy Ventures subsequently changed its
name to Seven Energy, and in 2007, Aluko led a management buy-out of Seven Energy. The
company began acquiring Nigerian oil producing assets in 2009. Aluko left the company’s
management and board in 2011.
According to Forbes, his stake in Seven Energy is not his largest asset. This is his 50% stake
in Atlantic Energy, a private upstream Oil and Gas Company that has a very lucrative, Strategic
Alliance Agreement (SAA) with the government-owned Nigerian Petroleum Development
Company (NPDC) in relation to four oil-producing oil blocks – OML 26, OML 30, OML 34 and
OML 42. NPDC, which is the operating arm of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation
(NNPC), owns 55 per cent in each of these oil blocks, which collectively produce an average
of over 108,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Under the agreement Atlantic Energy currently
has with NPDC, Atlantic Energy funds NPDC’s share of the operating costs of the four oil
blocks by paying the latter’s entire cash obligations. In return for funding NPDC’s operating
and capital activity costs, Atlantic Energy gets back costs, meaning that NPDC pays back to
Atlantic Energy the initial money used to finance the operating costs, and also earns 35 per
cent of profits on the oil blocks.
Quoting its website, Forbes said Atlantic Energy has spent a little over $500 million on the oil
blocks over the last two years. The company is believed to have earned hundreds of millions
of dollars from its share of profits during the period. The government-owned NPDC has not
reported its share of the profits on the oil blocks it co-owns.
“As a result of his various stakes in oil companies and the profits they have thrown off, Kola
Aluko has been on the radar for the annual Forbes Billionaires List and Forbes list of Africa’s
50 Richest.
“Aluko, who has recently been in the media spotlight for his closeness to stars like Naomi
Campbell and Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio, is also a co-founder of the Made In
Africa Foundation, a UK nonprofit that supports and funds master plans and feasibility studies
for large scale infrastructure projects across Africa. Avenue in New York and other homes in
Abuja and Geneva, Switzerland,” said Forbes.
His passion for race cars
According to a post on Nigeriavillagesquare, “Aluko is a passionate motor sports enthusiast.
He races and competes in conjunction with Swiss-based Ferrari team, Kessel Racing.
Aluko often cites the racing car driver, Ayrton Senna, as a main inspiration, drawing parallels
between racing, business and life in general. When asked on his advice for young
entrepreneurs, Aluko said: “The key is focus, focus and again focus. Identify the things you
are good at, your strengths, and get to work on your weaknesses. The racing car driver, Ayrton
Senna, a man who inspired me greatly, is a good example. Senna was an exceptional driver,
however, initially he was terrible in wet conditions, compared to racing in the dry, but he
identified his weakness, and so everytime it rained, he jumped into his car, and practised,
practised, practised, until he arguably became the best wet weather driver in history.”
His love for mansions and yachts
“In June 2012, he was reported to have purchased two luxury ultra-modern estates in Beverly
Hills, Los Angeles, California for $40 million.
He owns a 65-metre Galactica Star Yacht, which is said to cost above $50 million and he lives
in his $40 million home in Los Angeles and $8.6 million duplex on Fifth Avenue in New York
and other homes in Abuja and Geneva, Swit.
See The Meaning Of Alobam-Phyno N.G.N.G
So Phynophonia has been on for a bit and a half
now with the release of his debut album, No Guts
No Glory, which was launched few weeks ago.
As much as his album has been suggested to be a
part of schools curriculum just to depict the level
of talent this Eastern born act has stored in him,
almost all the tracks on the album is a hit but the
particular one that stands out and has garnered
massive airplay is the Track, Alobam.
Though fast gaining popularity, what is amazing
about the track is that it is in the Musician’s
mother tongue, which is his niche anyway, but all
tribes seemed not to mind as they nod their head
away to the track even though unbeknown of
Alobam , an igbo phrase, is coined from the word
‘armed robber’. Now i know what youre thinking
but calm down, thats not the meaning.
Figuratively speaking, it denotes someone you can
go the extra mile with, your ride or die. It is like a
code of conduct for people who don’t snitch on
each other.
It is a street slang for your best friend who would
have your back at all times.
Kinda Cool.
So if anyone calls you their Alobam, you should be
honoured.

Memo to All Nigerian Girlfriends & Wives!
Dear Sweethearts,
The FIFA World Cup is close by, so let us give you a few
rules that will help all of us during the months of June
and July:
1. The remote control belongs to me for the whole
month.
2. Tell all your friends not to give birth or wed on any of
the days during the World Cup because we won't go!
3. You support the teams that I support.
4. No talking during the game, wait for half-time or end
of the game.
5. Repeats and highlights are as good as the main
match, so I'm gonna watch them too.
6. We can see movies/home video (no Telemundo and
African Magic) provided actors and actresses are
wearing soccer jerseys and they are in Brazil.
7. You don't just pass in front of the TV if am watching
any match, you better freeze where you are or crawl on
the floor.
8. Make sure you don't ask silly questions such as; "is
this Chelsea versus England?"
9. No funny faces to my friends when they come to
watch a match with me.
10. Smile every time EXCEPT when my team is Losing,
OR ELSE!!!
You are warned!

LASU students lay siege to Fashola’s office
barricade came barely 24 hours after eight of the
protesting students were arraigned before an Ikeja chief
magistrate’s court for alleged breach of public peace.
The students in a protest march arrived at Alausa
Secretariat, Ikeja at about 3:00 pm and immediately
barricaded the entrance to the governor’s office with two
Bus Rapid Transit, BRT buses and other vehicles.
After barricading the entrance, they danced and set up
traditional cooking stove where they cooked beans for
themselves. They also observed Muslim prayers at the
entrance.
Vanguard observed that the arrival of the students to the
seat of power send jitters down the spine of the private
security officers attached to the Lagos State House of
Assembly and they shut the entrance gate to the
legislative house.
Also, police officers attached to the Area F police
command and Alausa police stations were quickly
drafted to the scene to forestall any damage to
government’s property.
The union President, Nurudeen Yusuf, said that peaceful
protest was a citizen’s right as enshrined in the
constitution.
Scores of LASU students, had on Tuesday protested,
carrying placards around Ikeja-Along Bus Stop through
Computer Village to Oshodi over the fee hike.
The protest later turned violent at Bolade area of Oshodi
when policemen intercepted the students, firing tear gas
and gun shots into the air to disperse the protesters.
Sixteen students were arrested and 10 hospitalised,
while five vehicles belonging to the union were seized.
Eight of the students were on Wednesday arraigned
before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court charged with
disturbance of public peace.
Yusuf condemned the attack by the policemen, adding
that the action was unconstitutional and an abuse of
power.
“We are students and Nigerian citizens and as enshrined
in the 1999 constitution, we have freedom of expression
and the right to protest,” he said.
The union leader said that the students were not
engaged in violence on Tuesday but only carried
placards and chanted solidarity songs to sensitise the
government about their plight.“We started the protest
from LASU gate with five police vans following us all
through until we got to Bolade, Oshodi, when it seemed
the police received an order to disperse us.
“We did not vandalise any public property as claimed,”
he said.
Yusuf urged Governor Fashola to meet the demand of the
students and reduce the tuition fee, as they would not
relent in their struggle.
LASU had on April 24 submitted a proposal of N46,500
for returning students and N65,500 for fresh students as
the new tuition fees. This is against the current charge
of N197,000 and N350,000 respectively for medical
students.
The proposal followed the directives of Governor Fashola
in a meeting with the students on March 31, to come up
with a proposal of how much they can afford.
The ad-hoc committee constituted by the State
Executive Council on review of LASU tuition, under the
chairmanship of the Commissioner of Transport, Mr
Kayode Opeifa, invited the students union for a meeting
on May 27.
The committee, however, said that quality education
could not be sustained with the fees proposed by the
students.
Impossible is nothing, Bosnia warns Eagles
Bosnia Herzegovina heads to Brazil as one of the
underdogs of the World Cup in a group with favourites
Argentina, Nigeria and Iran. But the fledgling nation has
fired warning signals with victories over Elephants of
Cote d’Ívoire and Mexico winning 2-1 and 1-0
respectively.
With five days to the kick off of the World Cup, the
country that was part of former Yugoslavia have warned
Super Eagles and other opponents that ‘’Impossible is
nothing’’ in the World Cup.To them, Impossible means
Coach Safet Susic and his star players are confident that
they would join Argentina to pick the two tickets in the
World Cup.
‘’The players are in good shape and ready. They are
relaxed and play for each other. With such good attitude,
impossible is nothing for us in the World Cup’’, the
coach warned.
And with star players Edin Dzeko( Machester City),
Ibiševi?, Vedad(VfB Stuttgart), attacking midfielder
Muratovi?, Samir(FC Gratkorn), this tiny country that
boasts the fourth highest scoring team in the European
Conference are ready for upsets in their maiden World
Cup.
‘’It is good to be considered an outsider in a major
competition. But we know our capabilities’’, Vedad said.
After suffering a 2-1 defeat in their friendly, Didier
Drogba and Kolo Toure warned Eagles to beware of the
Bosnians.
OBO disrupts Babcock convocation
HKN boss and Aye crooner, David Adeleke, known as
Davido last Sunday disrupted the convocation ceremony
of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, where
he was one of the 1, 544 graduating students.
The singer made a dramatic entrance at the time the
special guest of honour, the Minister of Finance, Dr.
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was delivering her topical speech.
The moment the singer walked into the complex, the
shouts of his name from students and fans rented the
air, making the minister to have to suspend her speech,
which until Davido’s arrival held the audience spell-
bound..
When normalcy could not be restored after several
minutes, Davido’s father, Chief Deji Adeleke, rescued the
situation by calling out to his superstar son. “David!
David! Leave this place now, and follow me where ever I

Allow us do our job, INEC Commissioner tells police
BY GBENGA ARIYIBI
12,000 policemen are to be deployed for the
gubernatorial election, the state commissioner of police
has warned.
Should the strength of the deployed policemen be
stretched, the authorities would not hesitate to shut
down the state, if only, to ensure that the environment
for a free and fair poll is allowed, Mr. Uyanna said at a
training workshop conducted for the police and other
security agencies ahead of the election.
The training workshop facilitated by British Department
For International Development( DFID) took place in Ado-
Ekiti with the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner,
Alhaji Halilu Pai, the State Sector Commander, Federal
Road Safety Commission, Mr Rindom Kumvent, men of
the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and 24
Divisional Police Officers in the State, among others in
attendance.
The INEC boss in his own submission at the workshop
counseled the police to give INEC officials a free hand in
the conduct of the election as he said that unhealthy
rivalry between the two bodies could mar the poll.
The police must be aware that many will not vote in this
election because of the fear and expectation that there
may be crisis.
So they must deploy more men to areas marked as
flashpoints and areas with history of violence for us to
achieve success.
It has happened in the past when our men were
ambushed by thugs while transporting materials to
election units and wards, particularly in very remote
areas. We have to checkmate this by ensuring that we
have enough police up to the hinterland.
The INEC boss warned the police against partisanship
and other acts that could erode their dignity in the face
of the right thinking members of the society.
We are going to provide stipends for the police, but this
is very small.
But you still have to choose between selling your
conscience or discharging your loyalty to a national
assignment because to us in INEC, there is no preferred
candidate. They are all the same as far as we are
concerned, Pai stressed.
Uyanna also disclosed that he has got assurances from
the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed
Abubakar that a total of 12,000 well trained policemen,
will be deployed to monitor the election, saying the
Command is battle ready to enforce orderliness during
the poll.

NJC directs most senior judge to act as Rivers CJ

The stalemate in Rivers State judiciary over the
appointment of a substantive Chief Judge for the state
degenerated yesterday with the National Judicial
Council, NJC, directing the most senior judges in the
state high court and customary court of appeal to
oversee assigning of cases to judges.
Acting Director of Information, NJC’s office, in Abuja, Mr.
Soji Oye, in a statement said that the two senior judges
would also perform other related administrative duties.
It said the NJC took the decision at its 67th meeting
held on May 27 during which it deliberated on the non-
appointment of a substantive or acting Chief Judge for
the state.
The statement noted with concern the attendant
consequences of this development on the administration
of justice.
It stated that NJC took the decision to correct the
impression created on NJC’s decision on the
appointment of the Rivers chief judge.
It said: “Suffice it to say that the law abhors a vacuum.
Therefore, where there is a vacuum, the law must fill it.”
It will be recalled that the Rivers State Government had,
Monday, raised alarm over the plot by the NJC to
appoint an administrative judge for the state judiciary,
which it argued was purely the constitutional duty of the
state government.
Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for
Justice, Mr. Wogu Boms, Monday, urged members of the
public to disregard the ‘rumours’ of NJC appointing a
Chief Judge or Administrative Judge, however described.
He said: “The only authority recognised by the
constitution to appoint a judge or a chief judge is the
governor of the state and not any other body or
commission, and that such body will be acting
absolutely illegal to do so, and cannot do so, if they are
led by anybody to do so.
“Pursuant to the issues at stake, the Rivers State
Judicial Service Commission, at its Monday meeting, had
passed a resolution directing the Chief Registrar to
inform all staff of the judiciary that disciplinary
measures, including dismissal, awaits any staff that
deals with any judge as Chief Judge, acting Chief Judge
or Administrative Judge not duly appointed by the
governor of Rivers State.”
It will be recalled that NJC had on March 27 suspended
Justice Peter Agumagu as the Chief Judge of Rivers, who
was sworn in by Governor Rotimi Amaechi on March 18.
Agumagu, until his appointment as Chief Judge, which
NJC said breached Section 271 of the 1999 Constitution,
was a former President, Rivers Customary Court of
Appeal.
Meanwhile, Agumagu has challenged his suspension and
the suit is before an Abuja Federal High Court.
APC under threat as court rules on acronym, Tinubu, governors differ
LAGOS — PROSPECTS of the country’s major opposition
party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, were shaking,
yesterday, ahead of a decisive ruling on the validity of
the party’s registration by the Independent National
Electoral Commission, INEC. Besides, some party
members were also apprehensive on the direction of the
party following tension among party leaders on account
of recent disagreements.
Some party insiders were fearful that Asiwaju Bola
Ahmed Tinubu who had been a major rallying point for
the opposition party might be losing enthusiasm over
what sources claimed as the increasing opposition to
him by other major party stakeholders, mainly some
governors.
A ruling by a Federal High Court, Abuja, today, was
anxiously being expected on a suit instituted by the
unregistered African Peoples Congress, APC against the
registration of the All Progressives Congress by INEC.
A loss for INEC in the suit in which the All Progressives
Congress was refused to be joined in as a party, could
be catastrophic for the new political party and put it in
possible jeopardy ahead of crucial gubernatorial
elections in Ekiti and Osun states.
Tinubu, according to sources was not enthusiastic about
the meeting expected to deliberate on outstanding
issues flowing from recent congresses across the
country. Tinubu, it is alleged, is miffed over the recent
turn of events in the party which has seen him at the
short end on three sensitive issues to the club of
governors in the party.
Tinubu, according to party sources lost out on the
venue of the convention, the choice of a chairman of the
convention planning committee and on the zoning of the
office of national chairman in the next executive.
Following the development, there were fears that Tinubu
who had alongside General Muhammadu Buhari been the
rallying point in the merger could lose enthusiasm for
the new party. Party spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed,
however, rebuffed insinuations of any tension in the
party over the alleged misunderstanding. Party elders
are, however, to meet within days to deliberate on
outstanding issues affecting the party notably the
unresolved congresses, zoning of national party offices
and permutations on the presidential candidate of the
party.
Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, a party elder also dismissed
claims of a crisis in the party, saying the party would
win the 2015 round of elections despite signs of internal
rifts. He said, “Positions are being more keenly
contested, people are seeing the future and I know that
the next government in the next election will be an APC
government at the federal level. We are now a serious
contender for power at the federal level.”
The suit on the ownership of the acronym, APC, was
entered before the high court by a rival political group,
the African Peoples Congress, which is insisting that it
has the patent right to the ‘APC’ acronym. The plaintiff
told the court that though it was the first political group
that applied to the electoral body to be registered as
‘APC’, it alleged that upon fulfilling all the condition
precedents, INEC, without any cogent reason, declined
to grant it the status of a political party in Nigeria.
Defunctpolitical parties
More so, the plaintiff told the court that it was surprised
that after INEC under the leadership of Professor Attahiru
Jega refused its application, it went ahead and
registered another group with the same ‘APC’ acronym
that was originally submitted to it by the plaintiff. It
further told the court that it had earlier instituted an
action that sought to prevent the Bisi Akande-led APC
which primarily consist of three defunct political parties,
the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, the Congress for
Political Change, CPC, and the All Nigeria Peoples Party,
ANPP, from laying claim to the acronym since it was
already in existence prior to the demise of their former
political parties.
The plaintiff further insisted that it was wrong for INEC
to have gone ahead to register the rival APC when a suit
restraining the party from using such acronym was still
pending in court.
Consequently, the plaintiff, in a motion on notice before
the court which is due for ruling today, applied for an
order to stop INEC from further recognizing or having
any dealings with the ‘APC’ pending the final
determination of their substantive suit.
The plaintiff specifically prayed for an order of the court
in the exercise of its disciplinary jurisdiction, annulling,
setting aside and voiding the action of INEC in
registering All Progressive Congress with the acronym
‘APC’, notwithstanding the pendency of the suit.
As well as, “an order of the court in the exercise of its
disciplinary jurisdiction, setting aside and voiding any
steps taken by INEC to facilitate the registration of the
said All progressive Congress APC after becoming aware
of the pendency of the suit, in contravention to the
doctrine of Lis pendens.”
The matter will come up before Justice Gabriel Kolawole
for ruling, following which the court will adjourn to
enable all parties adopt written addresses in preparation
to the final judgment on the issue.
Party spokesman Alhaji Lai Mohammed was, however,
calm yesterday and apparently unmoved by the pending
ruling.
It was feared yesterday that a ruling voiding INEC’s
registration of the Akande-led APC could cause
unmitigated disaster for the new party in the
forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Ekiti and Osun
States.
Speaking with Vanguard in a telephone interview
yesterday, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun assured that the
party would resolve all issues ahead of winning the
forthcoming elections.
He said “some of the congresses have not been resolved
but I think most have been resolved, this is natural.
Where there are difficulties, we will continue to try to
make peace though there are few states where there are
differences. Once a vast majority of the states conclude
their congresses, we will proceed to the convention.”
”When opposition parties were basically regional parties,
they did not have problems, now the APC is a national
force, it is a government in waiting. Given the mood of
the nation today, it has the possibility and probability of
becoming the government of the federation.”
The former governor of Edo State added that “positions
are being more keenly contested, people are seeing the
future and I know that the next government in the next
election will be an APC government at the federal level.
We are now a serious contender for power at the federal
level.
When asked if he is not disturbed about the controversy
trailing the possibility of the party throwing up a
Muslim-Muslim ticket, Oyegun said “you see, I do not
know who is playing it up in the party. I know that those
opposed to us are driving it in the media to distract the
feeble minded in the APC. It is an issue we have not
discussed. In fact, as at today, a Christian-Christian
ticket is also possible. The Muslim-Muslim ticket is not
an impossibility, but at the end of the day, the need to
win an election, is what will guide us, the need to
salvage the country is what will guide the party. So, all
this speculation in the party is neither here nor there.
The conclusion is that we shall cross that bridge when
we get there.”
